Other A Rocha initiatives
Eco-Congregation
Eco-congregation is a tool to help churches begin to address environmental issues in all that they do. It is suitable for all kinds of churches to use.
Churches are encouraged to use the resources provided to look at three main areas of church life:
- 'spiritual': worship and teaching (this might include services, preaching, work with children and young people, small groups)
- practical: things to do with buildings, land and church management
- mission: reaching out to the local and/or global community
Climate Stewards
A Rocha has set up Climate Stewards to give you the opportunity to minimize the effect of your carbon dioxide emissions on climate change. Our aim is to help you understand the problem and what you can do about it - and then enable you to do it! Any money you give to Climate Stewards will be spent by A Rocha on projects which are directly managed by one of our 16 national A Rocha teams or by one of our partners.
Take a look at the Climate Stewards web site. We hope you will be impressed by what you see and want to use our travel calculator to go carbon neutral. It will be doing even more good for the environment if you email a link to all your friends or tell your church about it. Don’t forget to keep coming back every time you make a journey by air or once a year to review your car mileage.
