	The Big Ask Become a governor of your local school. Make sure the school is aware of sustainability in its teaching and its own policies (recycling, travel to school, cycling provision, food policy, and electricity supply).
	Repeating challenge Join your local community or residents association, or Parish Council, and be an advocate for sustainable community.
	One-hit wonder Spend a day with people who are homeless this Christmas. Volunteer through Crisis Open Christmas
	The Big Ask If there isn’t one, why not band together with a few neighbours and start a community / residents' association!
	Repeating Challenge Become involved in the youth provision for your local area. See if you can encourage a sense of belonging, rootedness and engagement with the local environment – maybe through young people adopting a local park, helping with an allotment, or campaigning for better recycling facilities.
